History of the Symposium
CEEJH hosts an annual Symposium on Environmental Justice and Health Disparities, one of the largest EJ conferences in the country. The first EJ Symposium (as it is informally known) took place on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the University of Maryland. The symposium was the first of its kind event in the Mid-Atlantic region to discuss environmental, climate, energy, food, and water justice issues. acting as a space for impacted residents, community leaders, researchers, students, agency staff, and policymakers to convene, network, and learn from each other. The event includes keynotes, plenary sessions, concurrent sessions, solidarity tours, cultural night, and an awards ceremony.
